Seventh suspect arrested in Dubberly vandalism case
- Harlon arrested for participation in mailbox bashing
Dec 18, 2009 --
CASEY RYAN HARLON
In a follow up to the recent Webster Parish case of vandalism of mailboxes and signs in and around the town of Dubberly, in which Webster Sheriff’s investigators arrested six men, ages 18 to 20, the seventh individual suspected by detectives to have been involved turned himself in today.
Casey Ryan Harlon, 18, of Heflin turned himself over to Webster Sheriff’s investigators Lt. Dustin Reynolds and Sgt. Scott Tucker and provided a full confession of his involvement in the vandalism of mailboxes.
While Harlon was not a part of the spray painting of signs in the town of Dubberly, he joins Ethan Harris, arrested early Wednesday, with one count of felony criminal damage to property for their participation in damage to a hefty number of mailboxes.
“We appreciate that he turned himself in to our investigators,” said Sheriff Sexton. “It’s such a shame that these young men made such poor choices; but I really hope that this may be a turning point for them.
“I understand that many of these young men were good students during their high school years, and I hope they’ll use their talents and knowledge to grow from this and become law-abiding, respectful and productive citizens,” he concluded.
Harlon was transported and booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
