Webster Parish man arrested for “sex-ting”
Minden, La. -- Oct 1, 2009 --

Webster Parish Sheriff’s investigators arrested an eighteen-year-old male today after they followed up on information they received indicating that the boy had been inappropriately text messaging two twelve-year-old girls.

Austin G. Peters, 18, of Minden, was arrested when Sheriff’s detectives Lt. Dustin Reynolds and Sgt. Scott Tucker discovered evidence indicating that Peters had sent sexually explicit text messages to two twelve-year-olds.

Following an interview with detectives, Peters admitted to sending the inappropriate messages, and added an acknowledgement that he had already been previously warned by the parents of one of the girls to have no contact with her at all. Peters was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

“Luckily in this case the parents realized there were problems and properly reported those problems,” explained Det. Sgt. Scott Tucker. “It continues to amaze us that people like these guys don’t realize that we are proactively and reactively working these cases; and we’ll continue to do so. It’s illegal; and there will be consequences.”
