Webster deputies arrest paramedic on drug charges
Sep 25, 2009 --

SCOTT A HALL
On Wednesday, while Webster Sheriff’s narcotics investigators were following up on a lead, they learned that a DeSoto Parish man and area paramedic had stolen prescription drugs from a disabled patient he had treated in Sibley.
Scott A. Hall, 44, of Mansfield was arrested and booked on the charge of possession of a CDS Schedule III narcotic with intent to distribute, felony theft and prohibited acts on all schedules following his admission to stealing a large supply of the prescription pain medications and distributing a portion of them to a location in DeSoto parish.
“We found the drugs in his car during our search,” explained Lt. Det. Shawn Baker of the Webster sheriff’s narcotics division. “During an interview he made an admission to the theft and told us where he had taken some of the drugs in Webster and DeSoto parishes.”
Sheriff’s investigators contacted DeSoto parish sheriff’s deputies for assistance in the matter. Through the cooperative effort detectives hope to locate and retrieve all of the distributed pills linked to the case. The investigation into Hall’s actions is ongoing and may determine the issuance of additional charges to be appropriate.
Hall was booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center in Webster Parish on a bond amount of $22,500.00.
