Sibley woman arrested for “Sex-ting” a juvenile
Sibley, La. --
Jun 29, 2009 --

ANGELA DAWN ROMAIN
A Webster Parish woman has been arrested and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile for using her cell phone to send nude photographs and inappropriate text messages to a local 16 year old male.
40-year-old Angela Dawn Romain of Sibley, was called in for questioning after Webster Parish Sheriff’s investigators Dustin Reynolds and Scott Tucker were contacted by the mother of the teen boy.
“The mother advised that her son had been receiving pictures from an adult woman,” explained Sgt. Det. Dustin Reynolds. “A forensic search of the phone revealed that she had sent him multiple pictures of herself; and in one she was totally nude.”
Following interrogation of Romain, detectives learned that the exchange of messages had begun months ago.
“This had been going on for a while,” said Det. Scott Tucker. “When the mom found out, she contacted us because she knew the Sheriff’s Office was a part of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.”
Following her arrest, Romain was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
“This is unfortunately yet another example of how kids and teens can become victims of sexually explicit behavior through use of common technology,” said Reynolds. “It’s good the mother was quick to react. Parents must oversee their children’s use of cell phones, Internet access and text messaging; it’s just too easy for bad things to happen,” he concluded.
The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Department is an active part of the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a project of the Bossier City Marshal’s Office.
