Webster Sheriff's Department and Minden Police Department conduct narcotics clean-up operation in Minden, La.

  

All nineteen arrested were transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

 

Nineteen arrests were made this morning by Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies and Minden Police officers during a narcotics “clean-up” conducted throughout Minden and south-Webster.  This joint operation followed a seven- to nine-month undercover narcotics investigation led by the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Department with assistance from Minden Police Department. 

 

According to Webster Sheriff’s Captain Steve Cropper, the departments had warrants issued on 24 people as a result of months of investigatory efforts.  “The warrants were for charges ranging from distribution of marijuana, to cocaine and ecstasy,” he explained.

 

Of the 24 individuals slated for the morning’s sting, a total of 19 were located and arrested.  Sixteen of the arrests were made on drug charges, with three others made on additional outstanding warrants. 

 

“All of these busts were the result of an extensive narcotics investigation conducted by our office,” said Webster Sheriff’s Sgt. Narcotics Detective Shawn Baker.  “And we want to thank the Minden Police Department for their assistance in both the investigation and in making the arrests.”

 

Tiyako Ladante Davis, aka “Dante”, 25, of Minden was arrested on three charges for distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

LaKeedrick Jerone Mims, 22, of Minden was arrested on two charges for distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Johnny Ray Cockerham, Jr., 17, of Minden was arrested on five warrants; four for distribution of CDS Schedule I, marijuana, and one for distribution of a CDS Schedule II, ecstasy.

 

Taveyon D. Elkins, aka “Smoke”, 21, of Minden was arrested on one charge of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Marcus Moore, 21, of Minden was arrested on two charges for distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Jeremy Hampton, 22, of Minden was arrested on two charges for distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

John Christian Warren, 17, of Minden was arrested on three charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana), and during the arrest marijuana was found on his person.  One charge of possession of a CDS Schedule I narcotic was added upon arrest.

 

Travis Terron Bernard, 35, of Minden was arrested on two charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Jamarcus Carey, 20, of Minden was arrested on one charge of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Brett Williams, 19, of Minden was arrested on three charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

Derek D. Franklin, 30, was arrested on two charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Ladarcus Ward, aka “Dezy”, 20, of Minden was arrested on two charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Antonio B. Franklin, 27, of Minden was arrested on two charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

Brandon Flournoy, aka “Tin”, 25, of Minden was arrested on three charges of distribution of CDS Schedule I narcotics (marijuana and ecstasy.)

 

Kenny Wayne Lee, Sr., 42, of Minden was arrested on three charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule II narcotic (crack cocaine.)

 

Colton L. Franklin, aka “Colt”, 18, of Minden was arrested on one charge of distribution of a CDS Schedule I narcotic (marijuana.)

 

All individuals were transported without incident to Minden Police Department for booking and then to BayouDorcheatCorrectionalCenter.

 

Webster Parish Sheriff Gary S. Sexton is pleased with the results of this operation, saying, “We all had to work together to get these drugs off the streets of our parish.  It’s great to see our hard work and effort pay off; and I’m very happy with the success we’ve seen today.”
