 Daniel James Murray

June 19, 2009 – Minden, La. --  Following an investigation by the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Department, a Webster Parish Grand Jury convened this morning on the case of Daniel Murray, the Minden man accused of rape of a juvenile girl.

The Grand Jury returned with two true bills; one for forcible rape and one for molestation of a juvenile.

Following the return of indictments, two arrest warrants were issued on the two true bills.  Murray was then provided the opportunity to turn himself in.

“I placed a call to Mr. Murray when the warrants were issued,” explained Webster Sheriff Cpt. Steve Cropper.  “I offered him the chance to come turn himself in; and he did.”

Daniel James Murray, 37, was taken into custody by the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Department and transported for booking into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on a $400,000.00 bond.
