Patrol Division

 

The Patrol Division of the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office is comprised of a number of full- and part-time, and reserve officers tasked with a variety of duties from patrol to communications.

These highly trained men and women provide 24-hour response and patrol services to the parish's 45,000 residents and guests.

This department performs the primary policing function of the Sheriff's Office by providing crime prevention, deterrence, response, order, resolution and daily services throughout Webster Parish.

 

Traffic

  • Work traffic accidents on state and parish roadways and private properties
  • Conduct follow up investigations to hit-and-runs
  • Ensure all traffic reports are completed and corrected in a timely manner
  • Run radar, slow traffic in school zones, issue citations
  • Monitor traffic and identify drunk or reckless drivers
  • Check child safety restraints
  • Handle all funeral escorts in the parish
  • Assist motorists and heavy equipment movements

Marine Patrol

  • Public Assistance on parish waterways
  • Rescue operations
  • Prevention of criminal activity

Our new Marine Patrol & Rescue boat allows us to bring our law enforcement services to the waterways of our parish to help maintain security and safety for you!

Response & Prevention

  • Respond appropriately and professionally to alarms, burglary calls, domestic situations and more
  • After-hours business checks and continuous patrol to deter criminal activity
  • Conduct drug searches

 

 

 

 HAZMAT

  • Hazardous waste investigation
  • Emergency services in hazardous incidents
  • Partnership with Office of Homeland Security
  • Coordination of emergency response actions

Canine

  • Narcotics search and recovery
  • Nationally certified to evidentiary standards
  • Detect more than five different illegal substances
  • Assist in rescue and recovery efforts with highly trained canine aide
  • Conduct special search efforts with canine assistance

 

 Search & Rescue Canines:  Our highly trained canine officers, "Knot" and "Ffabien", provide special search and rescue assistance if and when it is needed.

Reserves

Webster Parish is proud to have more than 20 Reserve Officers who, under the direction of Deputy Dillard Sikes, regularly offer support services to Patrol Officers, provide security and escort services to Webster Parish schools, and offer public support and assistance. 

Communications Division

The 24-hour Communication Division of the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office is a vital part of the functions of this office.  Under the management of Lt. Mandy Wedgeworth, this division provides both the Emergency 911 services for the Parish; as well as dispatch services to our deputies, many police departments in the Parish, and all of our fire departments.  In addition to these services, it is our professional Dispatchers who are also challenged with most the the non-emergency calltaking for the Parish, as well.
